The American Legion is a patriotic, war-time veteran organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. As a not-for-profit community-service organization our purpose is to provide service to veterans, their families, and their communities.
Magellan Post 604 was originally formed and instituted by a group of California Filipino Veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Many of these Filipino Veterans were decorated war heroes and have come and gone.
Today, the Filipino-American veterans who served in the conflicts of Korea, Vietnam, Panama, and the Middle East Gulf crisis have come together to continue the tradition and legacy left behind by the founders of Magellan Post 604. We now envisioned a refuge that would stand as a fitting memorial to those who died to keep our country free. It would be a truly immortal legacy outliving anyone even the Legion itself.
These younger veterans have started to organize a fund raising drive to carry out a vision of building a “Memorial Park” within the property of the Post. The Park will be dedicated in honor of WWII Filipino veterans as well as those veterans who served in the US Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard during other war of conflicts.
The project also involves re-construction to an old structure in need of improvements to current standard from the original Magellan Hall Post 604. While the Post is currently undergoing some face lifts, these projects have slowly but surely come to the forefront and now nearing completion.

Name of sponsors who contributes will be etched on a metal tablet that will be embedded on a wall within the Park structure.
