I would like to thank all that attended our dance on 30 July
and hope you had a great time. Your continued support of our Post helped raise
much needed funds in order to assist with our Veteran's Day celebration this
year. If you have pics please share...I'm sure those who were not able to
attend will enjoy them as well.
Our setup started early on Saturday, 29 July with our Air
Force team (Commander Nelda, Adjutant Joe, Service Officer Howard and 1st Vice
Commander Doug) standing up tables, taking down the “red” chairs (heavy) and a
hundred other things (no contractor this time). Thank you Nelda for all the
hard work you put into building sandwiches and "all" the other things
you did in preparation for the dance.
My hat is off to
President Letty O'Quinn, 1st Vice President Florentina Abad, Executive
Committee Florencia Neri and Nelda MacDonald who donated and also prepared our
food for the evening. Thank you very much!!

Past Commander Tom Amaba for volunteering and providing security for the event
until the gate was closed for the night. I’d also like to give special thanks
to those who stayed late with Nelda and myself in order to clean up and put
tables/chairs away: from Post 604, Howard Williams and Unit 604, Florentina
Abad, Secretary Bella Nidoy and Florencia Neri. We also had a couple of guests
help put away the tables. Thanks!!
With
zero dollars spent on both clean-up and security, coupled with generous
donations from 2nd Vice Commander Ted (water), Tom/MacDonald’s (DJ) and
Lette/Florentina (food), we made a few $$. It will be in next month's financial
report I'm sure.
Lastly, I
understand Secretary Bella Nidoy kicked some butt on ticket sales!!! The Post
and Unit deeply thanks her for getting the word out and through her individual
efforts the event was a hit! Bella, we can't do the things we'd like to do for
our veterans without folks like you.
